With McClafferty Funeral Directors there is no such thing as a standard arrangement. We work with you to customise and personalise every detail to your exacting requirements. 1904
September 2, 1904Mr. John L. McClafferty established McClafferty Funeral Directors in King Street in the Waterside, Derry in 1904. He and his family ran the business until 1974. The image shows McClafferty Funeral Directors funeral home all those years ago.

1974
March 14, 1974In 1974 Mr. Jack McKeone took ownership of McClafferty Funeral Directors whilst situated at Meenan Square in the Bogside. He continued to run the business for the next 13 years.

1987
February 17, 1987Ownership then passed to Mr. John Casey in 1987 who remained at the helm alongside his family for 32 years. The image shows Mr. John Casey directing a funeral in 2014 with a horse-drawn carriage in procession on the Brandywell Road clearly showing the old Brandywell Stadium in the background recently renamed the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

March 8, 2019In March 2019 our new owner and proprietor Mr. Kieran Connor took the reigns of McClafferty Funeral Directors and has devoted himself to providing an authentic, personal & caring service to the families of Derry and beyond in their time of need.

Hugh Terrence (Terry) O’Kane
Date of Death: 14-03-2025
It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Terrence (Terry) O’Kane, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 14th March 2025.
Late of 32 Rosemount Gardens. May he rest in peace.
Beloved husband of Eileen. Devoted father of Majella, Kathy, Terry, Eileen, Thomas, Pat, Gerard and Ella. A much loved father-in-law. Loving grandfather and great-grandfather to all of his grandchildren. A dear brother to all his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
Terry’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, 32 Rosemount Gardens from 12pm this afternoon, Saturday 15th March. Funeral leaving from there on Monday 17th March at 8:50am for 9:30am Requiem Mass in St. Eugene’s Cathedral. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
Wake house will be private from 10pm until 10am.

Noella Hegarty née Dillon
Date of death: 22-02-2025
It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Noella Hegarty née Dillon, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 22nd February 2025.
May she rest in peace.
Beloved wife of Patrick. Devoted daughter of the late Denis and Phyliss. Loving sister of Ann, Catherine, Damian, Teresa, Paula, Michael, Martin and Mark. A much loved daughter-in-law of Hugh and the late Eilis Hegarty. Dearest sister-in-law of Hugh, Tim, Hilary and Sarah. Eternal friend of Teresa and Elizabeth. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle and friends.
Noella’s remains will be reposing at her sister Catherine’s residence, 1 Cashelmore Park from 2pm this afternoon, Sunday 23rd February. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday 25th February at 9:20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Eugene’s Cathedral. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
