1904September 2, 1904
Mr. John L. McClafferty established McClafferty Funeral Directors in King Street in the Waterside, Derry in 1904. He and his family ran the business until 1974. The image shows McClafferty Funeral Directors funeral home all those years ago.
1974March 14, 1974
In 1974 Mr. Jack McKeone took ownership of McClafferty Funeral Directors whilst situated at Meenan Square in the Bogside. He continued to run the business for the next 13 years.
1987February 17, 1987
Ownership then passed to Mr. John Casey in 1987 who remained at the helm alongside his family for 32 years. In March 2019 our new owner and proprietor Mr. Kieran Connor took the reigns of McClafferty Funeral Directors and has devoted himself to providing an authentic, personal & caring service to the families of Derry and beyond in their time of need.

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Jim Collins, peacefully at his late home, surrounded by all his loving family on the 5th of October 2021.
Late of 12 Cable Street. May he rest in peace.
Beloved husband of the late Eileen. Loving father of Jim, Patrick, Elaine, Tracey, Eamonn, Fearghal and the late Maria. A much loved grandfather and great-grandfather. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
Jim’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, 12 Cable Street, from 1pm on Wednesday 6th October, funeral leaving from there on Friday 8th October at 10:20am for 11:00am requiem mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower, burial immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
