Our head office and funeral home is located in Rathmor Business Park and we have established a new funeral office at Woodside Heights in the Waterside. These state-of-the-art facilities enable us to provide a first-class service to families on both sides of the River Foyle.

1904September 2, 1904
Mr. John L. McClafferty established McClafferty Funeral Directors in King Street in the Waterside, Derry in 1904. He and his family ran the business until 1974. The image shows McClafferty Funeral Directors funeral home all those years ago.
1974March 14, 1974
In 1974 Mr. Jack McKeone took ownership of McClafferty Funeral Directors whilst situated at Meenan Square in the Bogside. He continued to run the business for the next 13 years.
1987February 17, 1987
Ownership then passed to Mr. John Casey in 1987 who remained at the helm alongside his family for 32 years. The image shows Mr. John Casey directing a funeral in 2014 with a horse-drawn carriage in procession on the Brandywell Road clearly showing the old Brandywell Stadium in the background recently renamed the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

In March 2019 our new owner and proprietor Mr. Kieran Connor took the reigns of McClafferty Funeral Directors and has devoted himself to providing an authentic, personal & caring service to the families of Derry and beyond in their time of need.

Baby Katie Marie Ralphs born November 1st 2019. Precious daughter of Steph and John. Sister of Hugh and Lilly. She has gone to the angels in heaven.
Sincerest thanks to the staff at Altnagelvin Hospital for their care and support. House is strictly private by request of the family. Funeral on Sunday 3rd November at 1pm in Ballyoan Cemetery.

Baby Donnacha Doherty born still October 31st 2019. Much loved son of Shauna and Michael. Brother of Michael. He has gone to the angels in heaven.

Sr. Brigid Mackle

The death has occurred of Sr. Brigid MACKLE, Good Shepherd Convent, 38 Dungiven Road, Waterside, Derry / Derrykeeran, Co. Armagh. Peacefully on October 16th 2019 at Daleview Nursing Home, Derry.
Beloved daughter of the late Felix and Mary Mackle, sister of Fr. Liam (Perth, Australia) and Maura (Kiely, Belfast) and predeceased by her sister Ena, and her brothers Eddie and Aloysius. Deeply regretted by the Good Shepherd Sisters, her brother, sister, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and the extended Mackle family and a wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at the Convent Oratory today (Thursday 17th October), Sr. Brigid’s remains will be removed from the Good Shepherd Convent at 6:45pm this evening to St. Columb’s Church, Waterside, Derry for Requiem Mass on Friday 18th October at 12 noon.
Funeral immediately afterwards to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore, Derry.

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Leeann Kelly in Altnagelvin Hospital on the 10th of October 2019.
May she rest in peace.
Beloved daughter to Joe and the late Betty. Loving sister of Thomas and Joseph. Devoted niece of Marie, Martin and the late Jim. Dearest niece of Anne, Clare, Marie, Danny, Liam, Gerard, Pius, Hugh, Sadie and family and the late Mick and Jim. A much loved cousin and deeply regretted and missed by all her wider family circle.
Leeann’s remains will be reposing at her late family home 13 Knockena from 7pm on the 11th October 2019, funeral leaving from there on Monday 14th October at 9:20am for 10am requiem mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower, burial afterwards in the City Cemetery.
